SCIENTIFIC CO-FOUNDERS:

Tom Anchordoquy, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Colorado. Dr. Anchordoquy received his doctoral degree from the University of California, Davis. His thesis work focused on the formulation and characterization of liposome-based delivery systems. His research has focused on the formulation, characterization, stability, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. He has published over 50 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and five book chapters.
He is an inventor on three patent applications and currently serves on the editorial board of four pharmaceutical journals. In addition, Dr. Anchordoquy has acted as a consultant/collaborator to many pharmaceutical companies, and participated as an expert witness in the areas of drug formulation, stability, and delivery.

Karen Stevens, Ph.D. is the Director of Preclinical Psychiatric Medication
Development. Dr. Stevens is an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine Psychiatry Department at CU. Dr. Stevens is extensively published, has received multiple grants and is a nationally recognized behavioral pharmacologist and expert on Schizophrenia. Dr. Stevens has been involved in new treatment development for psychiatric disease for the last fifteen years and is uniquely qualified as a behavioral pharmacologist.


BUSINESS ADVISORS AND CONSULTANTS

William Poncy, MBA has been responsible for initial commercial development at Sierra since joining the Company after leaving Gilead Sciences, Inc. subsequent to their acquisition of Myogen, Inc. Mr. Poncy joined Myogen as the Vice president of Sales and Marketing. He was involved in all aspects of building the commercial infrastructure and launching Myogen's first commercial drug. In addition, he acted as the alliance manager for the Myogen collaboration with GSK on ambrisentan and Flolan®. Prior to Myogen, Mr. Poncy was the VP Sales and Marketing at Pharmion for North America. Previously, he spent 18 years with the DuPont Medical Products, Life Science Business and DuPont Merck Pharmaceuticals supporting various sales, distribution, government affairs and marketing roles.
