Daniel J. Abrams, M.D. - Acting Chief Executive Officer, CSO/CMO
Dr. Abrams is a co-founder of SierraNeuro and serves as acting CEO and member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Abrams takes an active role in development of the scientific and clinical plans for Sierra while continuing as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Abrams practiced as a neurosurgeon and served as head of the Department of Neurosurgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Abrams practical experience with implantable pumps and medication use in neurology and psychiatry, and his experience with interdisciplinary medical teams and research groups has made him uniquely qualified to lead and help build SierraNeuro toward becoming a commercial reality.
Suzanne Cadden, M.Sc - Vice-President Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
Suzanne has over 20 years experience in international drug development in both large global pharmaceutical and small biotech companies. She has an extensive background in the clinical development and regulatory areas, having negotiated drug approvals for over 60 new chemical entities and drug products across a broad range of therapeutic areas, such as CNS, oncology and asthma. Suzanne has also designed and conducted timely international clinical trials at the Phase I, II and III stages of drug development across several therapeutic areas . Recently, Suzanne was the global VP of clinical and regulatory affairs for a Boston biopharmaceutical firm focusing on cardiovascular and anti-infective drug development. She has held senior regulatory positions with Glaxo Wellcome Canada, and with Ciba Canada as Acting VP, Research and Development, and Director, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacoeconomics.
Kent Stemper, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining SierraNeuro, Kent was CFO for Wire One Communications, Inc. where he was involved with all aspects of Wire One's acquisition by BT Conferencing. Prior to Wire One, Kent had over 15 years experience in large and small biotech and pharmaceutical companies. As Treasurer at Myogen, Inc., Kent was involved with product licensing agreements and Myogen's merger with Gilead Sciences, Inc. Prior to Myogen, Kent was at Amgen, Inc. and had financial responsibility for Amgen's worldwide manufacturing operations. Previously, he was Vice President of Finance with Baxter International, Inc. where he worked with all of Baxter's major business units in Chicago, Tokyo and Los Angeles. Kent started his career as a CPA and was a Senior Manager in the Audit function at Deloitte & Touche. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Colorado State University.
